Today’s Lesson
Prayer Point - Class should pray for grace to abide in Christ.
Previous Knowledge - Assistant Teacher should review the previous week lesson. Teacher should mark the workbook.

1. Opening

A. BIBLE PASSAGE -I Corinthians 3: 5-10

B. Memory Verse - "I am the vine ye are the branches. He that abideth in me, and 1 in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me, ye can do nothing" ­John 15:5

C. Lesson Introduction - We read in the Bible that as believers, we are co-­labourers with God. We need God in the business and God needs us, but we need God more than He needs us. May the grace to make ourselves more available in partnership be given to us as we study at His feet in Jesus' Name.

A. Lesson Aim - To study the importance of good relationship in marriage.

B. Teaching Objectives and Lesson Plan

i. At the end of the lesson, students should be able to understand the relationship between the vine and the branches.
ii. They should also be "able to discover the role of husband and wife in the partnership.
To achieve these objectives, teacher should explain the relationship that should exist between man and God as well as the relationship which should exist between husband and wife.
Teacher should conclude by encouraging team work to achieve successful partnership in marriage.

C. Text Review - I Corinthians 3:5-10
i. Paul and Apollos were both ministers of God. VA
ii. Both laboured to advance the light of the Gospel while alive. V.s
Both had different gifts but which they used for the single purpose of the kingdom of God. V.5
iv. Both understood that it was God who rewarded their labour

v. Both understood why they should labour because the rewards would depend on the labour.

vi. Believers should, therefore, be careful and avoid carnality by failure to partner with Christ in the work of the ministry. V.1 0
vii. So should every husband and wife partner as unto Christ.

i. LESSON OUTLINE 1 - THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE VINE AND THE BRANCHES
A. You need God most as a branch.
i. God is the vine we are the branches. .
ii. The vine needs the branches and the branches need the vine more.
iii. You need God and God needs you.
iv. God can do without you but you cannot do without God.
v. God is ever faithful and supreme and mightier than we do.
vi. God keeps covenants and so must we. Numbers 23: 19; Psalm 62:11
B. You have a role to play.
To enjoy the benefit of the relationship with God.
i. You must be saved. John 3:3-5
ii. You must be faithful. Hebrew 11:6
iii. You must be holy. Hebrew 12:14
iv. You must be obedient. Isaiah 1:19
v. You must be a cheerful giver. 2 Cor.9:7

Class Activity 1- identify why you must maintain a good relationship with God always.
ii. LESSON OUTLINE 2 - THE ROLE OF HUSBAND AND WIFE IN PARTNERSHIP
i. Both the husband and wife must be involved to make the marriage work.
ii. Both should work towards a common goal. I Cor. 3:6; Amos 3:3; Gen. 1:22
iii. They should partner in the area of child bearing.
iv. Though the husband and the wife's roles look separate, they are united in one purpose.

Class Activity 2 - How do you think each of these roles can strengthen marriage partnership?

Summary: Husband and wife should partner with each other and together with Christ.

Conclusion: Team work as husband and wife and as man and God are essential to achieve success in marriage and our divine purpose on earth.
